LocalWocal Chitral Football Team Wins “GIKI All Pakistan Football Match“
A national football tournament was organized by The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIK) in Swabi from 31st of January to the 2nd of February 2020. This was a national competition in which 45 teams from around Pakistan participated including teams from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Kashmir, etc.
Out of all the teams, the team of youth from Chitral called “LocalWocal Chitral” bagged the award. The team was sponsored by the start-up of Chitral called LocalWocal and all the players belonged to the remote region of Chitral. Chitral is known for football and winning of this football tournament by LocalWocal Chitral is a proof of this statement.
LocalWocal Chitral team was dominant throughout the tournament and they did not lose any match. The team was led by the experienced player Kamran Ali. The team consisted of Khaleeq, Zohaib, Farhan, Alamgir, Saidu, Anhar, Baber, Sarwar, Kamil, Daniyal, Umair, Sayf, Dilawar and the manger Dawood. These are all young and talented players who have shown that if given the chance, they can go a very long way with their potential.
The final match was played against Fast University in which Local Wocal Chitral won by three to zero. Zohaib was announced man of the match as he scored two goals. Alamgir Ghazi was given the title of man of the tournament, while Khaleeq Zaman scored six goals in the tournament and bagged the award of top scorer. The captain of the team Kamran Ali said that the team had a great coordination and every player brought their A game to the field. He also thanked LocalWocal for giving the team the opportunity to play in this tournament.
Chitral is really full of talent in football, and it would not be long before Chitralis will be leading the national football team.
